Commenting on the Scottish Funding Council's report on college leavers, Mary Fee MSP said:
“Despite overall improvements in the number of qualified college students moving onto positive destinations, more needs to be done to ensure equality of opportunity.
“Statistics released today by the Scottish Funding Council reveal that students from the most deprived backgrounds are less likely to go onto higher education, and more likely to become unemployed, than those from the least deprived backgrounds.
“The SNP government must do more to ensure a college education offers the same advantages to all who qualify, regardless of background.”
