Following the statement, Scottish Labour’s Brexit spokesperson Alex Rowley said:
“This statement reaffirms the severe and unnecessary harms that would result from a no deal Brexit.
“I think we can agree who would be held responsible for bringing about such grim consequences – the Tories including those sitting in this chamber.
“It has been utterly disingenuous for Tory MPs and MSPs to tell us that they are seeking to agree a deal with the EU when all they have put forward is unworkable solutions.
“A no deal Brexit is predicted to go ahead despite measures being put in place to avoid it.
“The best way to avoid the disastrous outcomes of a no deal and bring the country together is to get rid of the reckless Tory government at Westminster and allow the people to decide between a credible deal and remain.”
