Commenting on CBI Scotland’s productivity report, Scottish Labour leader Richard Leonard said:

“This report shows Scotland’s productivity levels remain well below the UK as a whole.

“The failure to end this trend falls squarely with the SNP government in Holyrood and the Tories in Westminster.

“One area of growing concern is the mental health crisis impacting on our communities, and the CBI are absolutely right to point out the need for better workplace mental health awareness to help tackle this problem.

“The next Labour government will transform Scotland’s economy by investing £70billion to improve our public services, infrastructure and local communities.

"And we will tackle the low pay long hours culture which drags these productivity levels down.”

“Only Labour will transform Scotland’s economy so we have a country that works for the many, not the few.”
