Commenting on the embargoed report by Oxfam, Mark Griffin MSP, said:
“It’s clear that the Scottish Welfare Fund and local councils are being starved of cash by the SNP.
“Vulnerable people are not getting the help that they need because councils do not have the money to advertise the fund’s existence.
“The SNP is now re-creating many of the same problems developed by the DWP, with vulnerable people unaware that they have help available to them.
“Without additional funding from the SNP government this fund is in jeopardy and it will be the poorest people in our communities who will continue to lose out.”
