Dundee currently has the highest unemployment rate in Scotland.
It also has one of the lowest levels of pay in Scotland .
This week, SNP-controlled Dundee City Council turned its back on the the workforce of the council who provide vital services to every community in our city.
Jobs are to go, services are to be cut.
These are the consequences of austerity which continue to be imposed by an SNP –Government in the Scottish Parliament and by a Tory Government in Westminster.
The alternative budget plan proposed by the Dundee Labour Group on 21st February, would have made the protection of jobs and services a priority.
Labour will continue to challenge cuts while protecting our communities to ensure a better future for our city.
