Scottish Labour Shadow Cabinet Spokesperson on Health and Sport, Monica Lennon MSP said:

“The tragic deaths and infection scandals at the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital have been cloaked in secrecy for too long.

“Today the Cabinet Secretary should have confirmed whether or not she has complete confidence in the leadership of NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde.

“She should have been prepared to say whether the Scottish Government will take greater control over the running of the health board and been clearer about her own response to bereaved parents and those still searching for answers.

“She has had two months to decide what to do in response to the letter from Milly Main’s mother.

"Yet today she ducked the hard questions.

“Families and the wider public need to have full confidence in the health board and the Cabinet Secretary, that’s why vague answers from Jeane Freeman are sorely disappointing.”
