Responding to A&E performance falling to its lowest level since the ‘Beast from the East’, Scottish Labour Health spokesperson Monica Lennon said:

“These figures show the immense strain our NHS is under and highlights the need for the SNP government to get a grip.

"Increased pressure on A&E comes from other parts of health and social care services not meeting people’s needs, including delays in getting GP appointments due to staffing shortages.

"These damning figures should not be brushed off by the government.”
